Systemic Coaching in an Intercultural Context
You move between more than one world, perhaps bringing together several cultures within yourself, or you are a professional or leader in an international context — and you are looking for your own path within this complexity?
Basically, I use the same systemic coaching methods as other coaches.
The difference is that intercultural contexts can require a different kind of support.
I have worked in international collaboration for many years and move within multicultural environments. Many of the challenges are therefore familiar to me from my own experience.
What I do in coaching is a kind of translation work.
I try to understand together with you what exactly is happening — and why.
And what possible courses of action may emerge from that.
I then support you in developing a solution that works for you.
About me
I am an social anthropologist and sociologist and have been working in international contexts for more than 25 years, including in development cooperation and skilled workforce recruitment.
Through this work, I have learned how strongly our perceptions, communication, and decisions are shaped by sociocultural influences. Today, this experience flows into my work as a systemic coach.
I am interested in how people perceive their situation, how they make decisions, and what helps them find orientation within complex contexts.
My goal is for you to feel seen with your questions, topics, and perspectives — and to gain clarity about your next steps.
I work with people from many different backgrounds.
Many have an international background or move between different cultural contexts. Some are at the beginning of their professional journey, while others are in the middle of life and want to make a change.
What they often have in common is the feeling of being caught between different worlds,
where familiar patterns no longer work.
My particular strength lies in combining coaching with intercultural experience. I support you in better understanding situations, gaining more clarity, and finding your own path.

What my clients say
„Sybille is a very good listener and asked the truly relevant questions throughout the coaching process. With her wide range of methods, I was able to reflect on my new role as head of the dialogue center and prepare myself well for the new responsibilities and the challenging context in Nigeria.
What was especially helpful was Sybille’s excellent understanding of the local sociocultural conditions and her intercultural skills.
During the process, it was important for me to be able to discuss my open questions with someone who approached them with trustworthiness and understanding.
You can simply tell that Sybille genuinely enjoys this work, and that made the entire process very pleasant for me!“

„The sessions with Sybille greatly encouraged me to set boundaries in my professional life and to actively shape my career path.
I have now been job searching for quite some time. At the same time, I have grown a great deal during this period and gained a lot of clarity.
I am grateful for everything Sybille reflected back to me and helped bring to the surface.“
Stephanie
„After taking time off for children and with the desire to make a professional change, Sybille guided me through the transition process. It was very helpful to align my skills and wishes with the realities of the job market. What was especially valuable was Sybille’s empathy combined with her sense of realism and her ability to create space for new ideas. A wonderful coach!“

My Offer
I create a space for you to calmly look at your situation and reconnect with yourself in a new way. Depending on your needs, I use selected systemic methods that help you explore your topic from different perspectives. I then support you throughout the process of finding solutions, integrating my experience and — where meaningful — intercultural aspects. Alongside systemic tools, I also selectively use methods from emotion-focused counseling to support change processes. For some issues, a single session is enough; others require a longer process. You alone determine the pace and duration of the process.
Get in touch if you have any questions. I look forward to getting to know you.
